About
This program provides a structured approach to managing medications for seniors with complex medical needs in a community setting. It covers essential safety practices including professional storage, accurate dosage management, and the use of Medication Administration Records (MAR) to ensure consistency. Caregivers and seniors will learn to identify potential side effects, document health changes systematically, and use effective communication strategies when navigating healthcare systems with doctors and pharmacists. The curriculum is grounded in holistic nursing principles, focusing on reducing human error and improving safety within the home environment. Important: Completion of this educational course does not independently authorize a caregiver to administer medications. Caregivers must follow applicable legislation, employer policies, the client’s care plan and any required client-specific delegation or competency-assessment processes.
