Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern use of vlnursing.com and general access to services offered by Vital Life Nursing Inc.
These website Terms do not replace an individualized Service Agreement. Where a client enters into a personalized Service Agreement with VLN, that agreement governs the specific services, fees, included hours, scheduling, travel charges, cancellation requirements, payment terms and other terms applicable to that client.
Website Information
Information provided on this website is for general educational and informational purposes. Website content does not constitute an individualized nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment recommendation or other personalized health-care advice.
Using the website, completing an inquiry form, booking a consultation, sending an email or making a payment does not by itself establish a nurse-client relationship.
A professional nursing relationship begins only when VLN accepts the client for service and the appropriate assessment, consent and service arrangements have been completed.
Nursing Services
Nursing services are provided by appropriately licensed nurses acting within their individual competence, professional scope, applicable legislation and BCCNM standards.
Services may include nursing assessment, care planning, nurse case management, care coordination, advocacy, health education, home visits, telehealth and other services agreed upon with the client.
VLN does not guarantee a particular health outcome.
Geographic Availability and Virtual Care
In-person nursing services are offered primarily in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.
Virtual nursing services are normally provided to B.C. residents. Where a client is physically located outside British Columbia at the time of virtual care, service may be provided only where VLN confirms that applicable regulatory, licensing, privacy, insurance and other requirements in the client's location can be met.
BCCNM states that a B.C.-licensed nurse providing virtual care to a client outside B.C. must meet the requirements of the regulator in the jurisdiction where the client is located.
Emergencies
Vital Life Nursing is not an emergency service.
Do not use the website, email, text message, voicemail or routine VLN communication channels for an emergency. For an urgent or life-threatening situation, call 911 or attend the nearest emergency department.
Service Agreements
Clients receiving ongoing or personalized services will be provided with a Service Agreement describing the particular service arrangement.
The Service Agreement may identify the scope of services, monthly plan or included hours, fees, additional service charges, payment dates, scheduling expectations, cancellation provisions, travel charges and other client-specific terms.
If a provision of these website Terms conflicts with a signed Service Agreement, the Service Agreement will govern the service relationship, except where applicable law provides the client with a right that cannot legally be waived or restricted.
Fees and Payment
Fees are shown in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated.
For monthly nursing or case-management services, payment is made in advance for the applicable monthly service period, unless the personalized Service Agreement provides otherwise.
The amount payable, included services or hours, additional charges and payment arrangements are specified in the applicable Service Agreement or booking confirmation.
Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation and refund terms are described in VLN's Refund Policy and, for personalized nursing and case-management services, in the client's Service Agreement.
Nothing in these Terms limits a client's statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.
B.C.'s current consumer-contract legislation requires certain contracts to clearly disclose service descriptions, prices, payment terms, restrictions, cancellation/refund policies and renewal terms. Electronic distance contracts also require an opportunity to review/correct information and a copy of the contract.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing information that is accurate and reasonably complete; advising VLN of relevant changes in their health, medications, care providers or circumstances; participating in care decisions; treating VLN staff and contractors respectfully; and following agreed payment and scheduling arrangements.
A client remains free to accept or decline proposed nursing care, subject to the consequences explained as part of informed consent.
Professional Independence
Nurses remain professionally accountable for their own nursing decisions and will not provide care that is outside their legal scope, competence, professional standards or that they reasonably believe would be unsafe or inappropriate.
VLN may recommend referral to another health professional or a higher level of care when the client's needs exceed the services VLN can safely provide.
Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, website content, branding, written educational materials, forms, graphics and other VLN-created material are owned by or licensed to Vital Life Nursing Inc.
They may not be reproduced, distributed or used commercially without written authorization, except as permitted by law.
Third-Party Links
The website may contain links to third-party websites or resources. These links are provided for convenience and do not necessarily constitute an endorsement. VLN is not responsible for the content, security, privacy practices or availability of third-party websites.
Limitation of Website Liability
VLN makes reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and current but does not guarantee that every website page will always be complete, error-free or current.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, including professional responsibilities applicable to regulated nursing practice.
Governing Law
These website Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
Nothing in these Terms removes or limits rights available to a consumer under applicable legislation.
